2025 Progress on LHA Goals

Summary

This document tracks the Longmont Housing Authority's (LHA) progress on its goals for 2025 and outlines focus areas for 2026. Key accomplishments in 2025 include:

  • Resident Engagement: Continued quarterly "Coffee & Conversations" events, held numerous resident events supported by donations and external agencies (e.g., Kaiser, Recovery Cafe), and repackaged the Community Managers Handbook.
  • Housing Development: Completed construction and lease-up for Zinnia and Crisman II affordable housing projects. Construction is underway for the Ascent at Hover Crossing and the Hover property development. Investments were made in various affordable housing projects, including Sunset Heights and Crisman II.
  • Voucher Management: Faced challenges with HUD voucher funding shortfalls but continued discussions with other housing authorities to improve equity and explored new voucher types. Implemented Rent Café for online payments.
  • Service Provision: Partnered with various organizations to offer services like substance addiction recovery, disability education, and emergency preparedness. Explored partnerships for senior services, including TRU PACE and Via Mobility.
  • Homeownership Pathways: The City hired a Homeownership Specialist and increased funding for housing counseling. Efforts were made to engage LHA families in the True North development for homeownership opportunities.

2026 Focus Areas include continuing resident engagement, expanding recovery support services, developing new partnerships for emergency preparedness and environmental sustainability, and further developing affordable housing projects.

Citizen Impact

Residents benefit from ongoing resident engagement events and expanded supportive services at LHA properties. Progress on affordable housing development aims to increase housing availability, while efforts to improve voucher management and homeownership pathways offer potential long-term benefits for low-income households.
