The City of West Allis is entering into an agreement with the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) to receive reimbursement of up to $56,500 for the installation of approximately 570 stormwater trees in 2026. These trees will be planted in the public right-of-way and are expected to capture and retain approximately 14,250 gallons of stormwater. This initiative is part of MMSD's Green Solutions Program, aimed at increasing green infrastructure to manage stormwater and reduce pollution. The City will be responsible for the purchase, planting, and maintenance of the trees for at least 11 years, with the project scheduled for completion by December 1, 2026. The agreement directs the City Engineer to finalize the contract with MMSD and ensure proper record-keeping and reporting.
