RES 9 Authorizing the mayor to execute a cooperative endeavor agreement with the Louisiana Department of Corrections, Office of the State Fire Marshal and the State of Louisiana and to otherwise provide with respect thereto.

This resolution authorizes the Mayor to execute a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement (CEA) with the Louisiana Department of Corrections, Office of the State Fire Marshal, and the State of Louisiana. The agreement allows the Shreveport Fire Department's Louisiana Urban Search & Rescue (USAR) Task Force 3 to receive a line-item appropriation of $250,000.00 from the State.

Purpose of Funds:

• To equip and maintain USAR Task Force 3 as a FEMA NQS Type III USAR equipment cache.
• To fund and equip USAR Task Force 3 as a FEMA NQS Type I Swift/flood search and rescue team.

Restrictions: Funds are to be used for equipment, tools, personal protective equipment, and communication equipment. Funds cannot be used for payroll, travel expenses, training, vehicles, vehicle maintenance, or storage fees.

Term: The agreement is for a one-year term, from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
