Youth Bureau: An Ordinance Authorizing the Mayor to Enter into an Agreement with the Westchester County Youth Bureau for the Acceptance of Grant Funds in the Amount of $25,000 for the Moving in Motion (M.I.M) Program - (October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026)

The City Council is considering an ordinance to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the Westchester County Youth Bureau. This agreement will allow the Mount Vernon Youth Bureau to accept a grant of $25,000 to fund the Moving in Motion (M.I.M) Program. This program focuses on youth sports education, aiming to foster positive relationships with the body, manage stress, build resilience, and enhance emotional intelligence through physical activities and goal setting. The grant period is from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026. The funds will be allocated to salaries, part-time staff, equipment, travel, contracted services, miscellaneous expenses, and program supplies. This is a reimbursable grant and does not require matching funds from the city. The agreement is contingent upon approval by the Westchester County Board of Acquisition and Contract and the review of the program application and budget.
