Department of Public Works: A Resolution Authorizing Attendance and Expenditure for the 2026 New York State Building Officials Conference for Municipal Code Enforcement Conference (NYSBOC)

The Department of Public Works is requesting authorization for four Municipal Code Enforcement Officials to attend the 2026 New York State Building Officials Conference (NYSBOC) Municipal Code Enforcement Conference. This mandatory 4-day training, held on February 24th-25th and March 25th-26th, 2026, at the Westchester County Center, is required to fulfill the 24 hours of annual in-service training mandated by the Department of State Division of Building Standards and Codes. The conference covers essential topics including Code Enforcement and Administrative, Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, and Energy Conservation Construction Code. The estimated cost is $350.00 per member, totaling $1,400.00 for the four officials (Deputy Commissioner John Nuculovic, City Engineer Curtis Woods, Code Enforcer Jawwad Abdul-Halim, and Principal Clerk Yoseuf Ellis). Transportation will be provided via motor pool vehicles, and funds are available through the austerity budget.
