Authorizing the City Manager to accept and execute a grant awarded by the Laredo Area Community Foundation for the amount of $5,000.00 to fund Keep Laredo Beautiful for the Keep Laredo Beautiful garden club and to amend the FY 2026 Keep Laredo Beautiful Fund by appropriating revenues and expenses in the same amount.

The City Council is authorizing the City Manager to accept a $5,000 grant from the Laredo Area Community Foundation to fund the Keep Laredo Beautiful Garden Club. This grant will support various gardening workshops and activities focused on sustainable practices, soil health, pollinator-friendly planting, and urban gardening for residents of Laredo and the surrounding South Texas border region. The FY 2026 budget for Keep Laredo Beautiful will be amended to appropriate these funds. The grant does not require matching funds from the city. The project budget details expenses for soil, tools, seeds, supplies, signage, and contingency.
