Consideration of approval to execute the Guardianship program contract for RFP 25-057 with Friends For Life submitted by Professional Services

Galveston County has approved and will execute a contract with Friends for Life for the Guardianship Program (RFP #25-057). This agreement tasks Friends for Life with providing guardianship and related services, including representative payee services, for incapacitated persons and those needing assistance in Galveston County. The program aims to serve up to 200 wards and representative payee clients.

Compensation is structured on a tiered monthly basis: $300.00 per individual for 1-75 clients, and $275.00 per individual for 76-125 clients. The contract's primary term is from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2027, with the option for two one-year renewals, not to exceed a total of four years. Friends for Life's employees must be certified, and the organization is designated as the responsible agent for the disposition of deceased wards.
