Draft January monthly report

This document is the January 2026 monthly report for the Columbia Parks & Recreation Department. It details activities across various divisions, including:

• Administration: Updates on construction projects at Philips, Cosmo, Whitegate, Gans, Clary-Shy, Twin Lakes, and Flat Branch.
• Maintenance: Routine facility and grounds upkeep, including restroom cleaning, sanitation, general park maintenance, aquatic maintenance, facility repairs, event setup, homeless cleanup, and snow removal.
• Fleet Operations: Service calls, tire repairs, equipment repairs, shipments, mower maintenance, refueling, and gas can distribution.
• Golf and Sports Turf Management: Routine maintenance at Lake of the Woods and L.A. Nickell Golf Courses, including course upkeep, tree pruning, bunker raking, snow removal, and equipment maintenance. Sports turf management includes lip removal, leaf cleanup, irrigation repairs, and goal post removal.
• Construction: Progress on GCRA Cross Country bike trailhead, Albert-Oakland Pickleball Court Renovation, and Douglass Pool House Renovation.
• Natural Resources: Horticulture activities such as grade work, decking installation, bed clean-up, greenhouse work, mulching, leaf removal, stump grinding, and planting. Forestry includes tree removal, vegetation removal, stump grinding, firewood stocking, plaque installation, bat box installation, trail maintenance, and snow removal.
• Rentals: Data on external and internal rental usage for various facilities, including community centers, amphitheaters, and event spaces.
• Activity & Recreation Center (ARC): Reports on daily visits, membership sales, room rentals, aquatics (instructional swim, drop-in classes, parties), child care services, and fitness programs.
• BCFR Collaboration: Updates on trainee applications, hours worked, and work sites for year-round and summer programs.
