Authorizing an aviation project consultant agreement with Burns and McDonnell Engineering Co., Inc. for design services associated with construction of a snow removal equipment building at the Columbia Regional Airport; amending the FY 2026 Annual Budget by appropriating funds in the amount of $436,500.00.

The City Council is authorizing an aviation project consultant agreement with Burns and McDonnell Engineering Co., Inc. for design services related to a new Snow Removal Equipment (SRE) building at the Columbia Regional Airport. The agreement is for a not-to-exceed amount of $929,200.00, with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reimbursing 90% of this cost and the remaining 10% covered by local Transportation Sales Tax. Additionally, the FY2026 Annual Budget will be amended to appropriate an additional $436,500.00 to the project account. The proposed 16,900 SF facility will include a maintenance bay, vehicle/equipment parking, and deicing material storage. The estimated total construction cost for the SRE building is $7,499,000.00, also 90% reimbursable by the FAA. Design services are expected to be completed within 180 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.
