She had a distinguished career of nearly three decades at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), starting as a bus driver in 1978 and retiring in 2006 as Chief Inspector at the Cabot Garage. She was recognized as one of the first Black female inspectors at the MBTA and was an active member of her union, Local 589 and Local 600. Ms. Chisolm was also deeply involved in her community through youth programs and volunteerism, and was active in her church through music and ministry. The resolution commends her integrity, generosity, leadership, and commitment to service.
