Charles Village Community Benefits District and Management Authority FOR the purpose of renewing and continuing the Charles Village Community Benefits District and Management Authority; providing for a special effective date; and generally relating to the activities and authority of the Charles Village Community Benefits District and Management Authority.

Summary

This resolution renews and continues the Charles Village Community Benefits District and Management Authority. The District and Authority were initially created in 1994 and have been reauthorized multiple times since then, most recently through June 30, 2026, by Ordinance 22-141. This bill extends their operation through June 30, 2030. The City Council has reviewed the Authority's activities, including public safety programs, sanitation and maintenance, and community promotion, finding them to be in compliance with city codes and beneficial to the Charles Village area. A review to determine the desirability of continuing the District and Authority beyond June 30, 2030, is scheduled for December 2029. The resolution takes effect 30 days after enactment.
