2026 Joint Chemical Consortium Quotation Awards

The Appleton Department of Utilities has completed its 2026 Joint Chemical Consortium Request for Quotation (RFQ) process. This annual consortium, which includes Neenah and Menasha Water Utilities, aims to leverage higher-volume purchasing for more competitive pricing on treatment chemicals. Quotes were solicited from 61 vendors for 14 chemicals used by the Appleton Water Treatment Facility (AWTF) and Appleton Wastewater Treatment Plant (AWWTP). The total annual budget for these chemicals is over $3.2 million. Selected suppliers have been notified and will begin providing products on January 1, 2026. The attached document provides a detailed comparison of 2026 costs per pound versus 2025 costs for various chemicals, showing both increases and decreases. For example, Aqua Ammonia is decreasing by $0.014/lb, while Hydrochloric Acid is increasing by $0.150/lb.
