Discussion and Possible Action on Green Los Alamos Certification Program for Businesses

The Green Los Alamos Certification Program aims to recognize and encourage businesses in their environmental stewardship efforts. Businesses can earn Bronze, Silver, or Gold Seals based on the number of sustainability completions they achieve (15, 25, or 35 respectively). The program involves a self-certification form covering areas such as energy management, water conservation, waste reduction, operational sustainability, and transportation initiatives. Gold Seal applicants will undergo a verification site visit. The program aligns with the County's strategic goals for buildings and energy, transportation, materials consumption, natural systems, and community resilience, with a specific strategy to "Encourage sustainable businesses" and "Develop a sustainable business certification."
